KOBULETI - On July 15-16, the USAID-funded Hydropower Investment Promotion Program (HIPP) conducts a workshop at the Georgia Palace Hotel for energy sector representatives and journalists. The goal of the workshop is to strengthen and promote ties between energy sector and media representatives to promote timely and accurate sharing and coverage of information on developments in the energy sector.
In addition to representatives from government, energy stakeholders, and the local press, investors have been invited to the workshop to present their respective investment projects being implemented in the hydropower sector of Georgia.
USAID’s HIPP assists in efforts to attract investments in hydropower development in Georgia, having the goal of helping add 400 megawatts of clean, green renewable power to the Georgian grid through local and foreign investment. New energy production will help move Georgia closer to full energy independence and greater export potential.
